GES Headquarters
Geophysical Services (GES) Ltd.was founded on January 1, 1993, as an independent contractor company. This fact however does not mean the lack of long experience. The predecessor (Geophysical Exploration Company, GKV) to GES was opened for business in 1952, to fulfil the needs of oil and gas exploration in Hungary.
Traditionally, apart from some projects abroad (China, former East Germany, former Yugoslavia, Iraq) most of our past activities took place in Hungary. During the past decade however, GES established a good reputation as a regional international service company. Beside our domestic activity, carried out mainly for MOL and other foreign oil companies active in Hungary, we carried out several successful surveys in, Tunisia, Croatia, Slovakia, Germany, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey and in Oman.
Several of our former clients – a number of major international oil companies amongst them – were highly satisfied with our services and awarded more than one jobs, one after the other. In the recent years GES earned more than half of its income abroad.
